Fans of the classic 1960’s cartoon can revel in more episodes available soon on DVD.
On July 24, The Ultimate Underdog DVD Collection will be released on three DVDs for $12.93 each.
Of course, the release of the animated series about the caped canine superhero is just in time for Disney’s big-screen live-action adaptation, starring the voice of Jason Lee as Underdog in theaters August 3.
Each of the three volumes contains six complete, digitally re-mastered episodes including some that have never been released on DVD before. All of episodes are as they originally appeared on TV in the 1960s, with other cartoon shorts intersperced amongst the Underdog clips.
Earlier DVDs of Underdog had the other cartoons as bonus material, but you can experience the shows as they appeared on primetime and Saturday morning TV, of course this time without commercial interruptions.
Speed of lightning, roar of thunder, fighting those who rob or plunder. Underdog. Underdog!

This is a copy of my letter to the people who released these DVDs.
Sir,
As a lifelong fan of underdog I was looking forward to the release of the cartoon on DVD. Once I started playing the DVDs I purchased I realized once again that some stupid editing choices had been made and once again much like the united american videos and sole DVD release an incomplete version of the cartoon series had been released on home video. I can only surmise that are neither fans or were old enough to remember how this show was originally presented. I realized this after watching a few minutes of volume one. The cartoon while digitally remastered is no longer the proper color. Sure those old episodes I watched on local television are pretty beat up but the colors are right. The way underdogs costume looks now the costume isn’t red but a very dark murky color. By the way as a fan of underdog I own the original DVD UAV released a few years ago and the bonus content including joe harris interview is the same although you’ve spread out the extras to three DVDs. Anyone whose a fan of underdog remembers the don’t touch that dial opening clip as well as various other clips including one that previews the next episode. Also disturbing is the themes of companion cartoons Tennessee Tuxedo which had a redubbed theme and the various overedited themes like go go gophers to name one. I was hoping that UAVs editing mistakes would be realized and the cartoon I love would be presented properly. I guess I was wrong. I can only imagine what other cartoons you have butchered.
Thank you for your time. Joseph Guenther
