liv tylerThe actress will take over the role of Betty Ross in the upcoming Hulk sequel.

Liv Tyler will play Betty Ross, long-time love interest and fellow scientist to Dr. Bruce Banner/The Hulk, in the Louis Leterrier-directed The Incredible Hulk.

In the sequel, Tyler — best known for her portrayal as the elf Arwen in the Lord of the Rings trilogy — takes over the role of Ross from Jennifer Connelly, who played the character in the 2003 movie Hulk directed by Ang Lee.

In the movie, scripted by Zak Penn, Ross will be estranged from Banner, but will find herself back in his life after Banner (played by Edward Norton) goes on the run to avoid capture and to try to cure his condition as The Hulk.

Filming on The Incredible Hulk is scheduled to begin in the summer in Toronto and will open in theaters June 13, 2008.
