BeowulfThe IMAX 3D version of Robert Zemeckis‘s Beowulf will be released on November 16, 2007, the same day the standard version of the film hits conventional theaters. The movie will be released internationally within three weeks of the domestic launch.

Beowulf, with a script by Neil Gaiman and Roger Avary, will be digitally converted into IMAX 3D and re-mastered through IMAX DMR (Digital Re-mastering) technology. Previous reports stated that the IMAX version could appear on nearly 1,200 3D digital-cinema screens when it debuts.

The performance-capture film is based on the Old English poem and stars Ray Winstone, Anthony Hopkins, John Malkovich, Robin Wright Penn, Brendan Gleeson, Crispin Glover, Alison Lohman, and Angelina Jolie.
