Greetings!
So, I am a massive Zombie movie fan. Anything zombie I am there. Unfortunately, I live in a crappy city (Memphis, TN) for that stuff because we are not in the center of the film industry out in LA or in a cool cultured town like New York City, so we always get cut out of the cool indie films that are released.
So today I ask if those of you in LA are going to check this zombie movie out called American Zombie that opens this weekend in Los Angeles? The movie’s official site has a coupon you can print out and bring to the theater to see the movie for only $6! Tonight’s 7:30 showing at the Laemmle Sunset 5 in West Hollywood will feature a post-viewing Q&A with the film’s writer/director Grace Lee and The Zombies.
Directed by Grace Lee and written by Lee and Rebecca Sonnenshine, American Zombie is a dark comedy, shot documentary style, starring Austin Basis, Suzy Nakamura, Al Vicente, Jane Edith Wilson, and featuring Lee and John Solomon as themselves. The film is produced by In-Ah Lee and executive produced by Teddy Hoon-Tack Jung. The movie tells the story of two Los Angeles filmmakers who set out to document a group of high-functioning zombies and their struggles to gain acceptance in human society. After weeks of following four charismatic characters, the filmmakers gain permission to shoot at a three-day, zombies-only retreat where the documentary takes an unexpected –- and dangerous –- turn.
I think this is pretty original and I will definitely get a copy of this when hits DVD next week.
Anyway, so all you LA-ers get to the theater and check this movie out for me! Then leave a comment or write me back and tell me how it was! fusedfilm@gmail.com
