A couple movies have been talked about for a long time now and recently, some talk arose that they may have now been canceled after all that talk. The movies in question: the proposed Justice League of America live-action film and the fourth Terminator movie.
The JLA movie that has been in and out of the news with endless rumors and castings and so on. Well, Devin over at CHUD snagged producer Joel Silver while at a Speed Racer junket and when asked about the movie and Wonder Woman‘s effect on it, Silver replied that JLA had been “tabled.”
Now I’m not a Hollywood lingo expert, but from what people are saying this doesn’t mean that the film is moving ahead smoothly. It doesn’t mean that the movie will never get done, but it’s basically not even on the back burner anymore. It’s been wrapped in foil and placed in the back of the freezer and maybe down the line it will be defrosted and served; or maybe it will be spoiled by then and thrown away for good. Who knows.
The second bit is a little bit more interesting, as I think people were beginning to be re-sold on the idea. The movie in question is Terminator 4, aka Terminator: The Return of the Terminator, which had miraculously snagged Christian Bale to play John Connor and had a strong supporting cast for him as well. UGO has a source who apparently was told that a crew member on the film was overheard discussing their new-found free schedule, leading people to believe that production on the fourth installment had been shut down This is, of course, not confirmed, but certainly interesting enough to wonder.
I guess we’ll find out soon, as T4 was slated to start filming very soon, and if it doesn’t… well, that would sorta be a confirmation!
Too bad for T4… that was starting to sound interesting,
A-MEN for JLA! That thing was a bad idea from the word Go.
