[UPDATE: Universal has sent us the high-res version of this NYCC-only poster; click the image for the larger view.]
While my Geeks of Doom editors were at the New York Comic Con this weekend, I submitted a story about the new limited-edition poster image for Hellboy II: The Golden Army, which CHUD had debuted.
The poster, shown here at right, was created by master poster-maker Drew Struzan and is very limited, only being offered exclusively to people at the NYCC this weekend, but I was hoping to God that it may get offered more widely later!
After I wrote this, Dave3 reported in saying that at the Con’s Hellboy II panel on Saturday, the film’s writer/director Guillermo del Toro unveiled the poster (and topped off his appearance by tossing it into the audience!). He said that it was indeed a NYCC exclusive, limited to only 2008 pieces. Luckily, Dave3 doesn’t mind waiting in line, because he scored the 1597th poster (they’re numbered). Way to go!
This is not an official one-sheet for the film; it was created specially for the NYCC.
Geeks of Doom will have more coverage of the Hellboy II panel soon, which will also contain news about del Toro’s other upcoming projects.
That… looks fucking sweet.
