Emma Watson is world-renowned for her portrayal of Hermione Granger in all of the Harry Potter movies, but just like her co-stars and their characters, she’s not planning on being Hermione for life.
THR informs us that Watson has signed on for the film Napoleon and Betsy, which takes place on St. Helena, where the notorious Napoleon Bonaparte was exiled. Watson plays Betsy Balcome, who was trapped on Helena at the same time that Napoleon was exiled and fell in love with him.
This isn’t Watson’s first non-Potter film, as she has The Tale of Despereaux in post-production. That, however, is an animated film, so this will be her first real dance with non-Potter movies.
Hopefully this goes as well for her as it seems to have gone for her counterparts and their other projects.
You said that Watson’s only non-Potter film was an animated film for which she did voice work, but she has done a made-for-TV film, Ballet Shoes, for the BBC. Unfortunately, it has not been distributed in the US. In it, Watson has a starring role.

Just to clarify:
I don’t consider “made-for-tv” a legitimate movie. It’s basically a glorified TV show with a few here and there being decent… maybe.
I prefer covering the real movies, let’s not get nit-picky ;)

Ballet Shoes was exceptional work, I enjoyed it thoroughly.
I defniately would count that part of Emma’s pallette.
