There are certain constants in our world that we can set our watches by. Robert Kirkman will always write brilliant comics; Harrison Ford will never retire; and anything written by J.R.R. Tolkien will always make a good movie. But I would add one more to my list of geekish certainties; that whenever Joss Whedon puts his pen to paper, gold will soon follow.
So with production recently started on Dollhouse, and a due date for January 2009, Whedon’s latest project will soon start providing us with pictures and spoilers over the next few months.
And, thanks to Sci Fi Wire, a new image has surfaced showing Eliza Dushku in the Dollhouse.
Starring Eliza Dushku — who played the third vampire slayer in Whedon’s previous Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Angel television series — who plays Echo, the show revolves around a group of people known as “Actives” or “Dolls” who volunteered for work in the Dollhouse. Giving up five years of their lives, their personalities are wiped clean and thus are able to be imprinted with whatever personality trait or skills necessary to perform various tasks, from crimes to fantasies to the occasional good deed.
Amy Acker, another Whedon alumni from her work on Angel, will also join the cast as recurring character Dr. Claire Saunders.
I’m really looking forward to Dollhouse, because it seems like it is another project right down Whedon’s alley; kooky, a little left of center, and really interesting.
Looking forward to it.

I seriously cannot wait for this show.
The trailer looks fantastic, and hey, it’s Whedon!
