I definitely just wrote “Rottingham” above for the title before realizing that I’m a complete idiot. Damn it, Mel Brooks!
ANYWAY!
Sienna Miller was talking to the BBC and informed them that she has been cast as Maid Marian in the upcoming Nottingham. The film is being directed by Ridley Scott and stars Russell Crowe as the Sheriff of Nottingham. Nottingham will be written by Brian Helgeland, who won an Oscar for the L.A. Confidential screenplay and was nominated for Mystic River.
This is not your typical Robin Hood tale, as it will play out with the roles reversed; the good Sheriff as the hero and Mr. Locksley as more of an unlikeable thief, I would assume.
Considering the names making this movie, I can only assume it could very well become the top Robin Hood movie out there, as it’s not hard to pass a Kevin Costner movie. I think Miller is a great fit for this role and I definitely look forward to watching this one move forward.
The only thing that may cause some troubles is the SAG strike that looks to be playing out eerily similar to the WGA strike, so I guess we can only wait and see how it goes down!
