Read Now: ‘The Prisoner’ Online Tie-In Graphic Novel
space
Empress Eve   |  @   |

The Prisoner 2009Part 1 of AMC’s remake of The Prisoner, starring Jim Caviezel and Ian McKellen, aired earlier this evening, with Part 2 airing tomorrow at 8pm on AMC.

If you didn’t get a chance to watch tonight’s premiere, I hope you got to record it, because it was surprisingly good. I say surprisingly because I’m a fan of the original show and I just assumed the remake couldn’t live up to it (my general feelings on most remakes), and also because nearly every advanced review of the miniseries I’ve read was negative.

Anyhow, definitely check out the new Prisoner, and also, there’s a tie-in online graphic novel (well, really more like a motion comic) to accompany the series. Check out Book One: As the Air, Invulnerable, chapter 1 of a 10-chapter story. In Chapter 1, we’re introduced to Rebecca, who’s looking for her missing sister. Chapter 2 will be posted online immediately following Tuesday’s television finale on Tuesday, November 17.

The Prisoner miniseries will air over three consecutive nights, with two episodes each evening, from 8PM to 10PM ET on AMC. Encore presentations will follow. See schedule below.

Nov. 15, Sun. – episodes “Arrival” and “Harmony”
Nov. 16, Mon. – episodes “Anvil” and “Darling”
Nov. 17, Tue. – episodes “Schizoid” and “Checkmate”

Be seeing you ;-)

*********************************

A man, known as “Six,” finds himself inexplicably trapped in “The Village” with no memory of how he arrived. As he explores his environment, he discovers that his fellow inhabitants are identified by number instead of name, have no memory of any prior existence, and are under constant surveillance. Not knowing whom to trust, Six is driven by the need to discover the truth behind The Village, the reason for his being there, and most importantly — how he can escape.

Two-time Academy Award nominee Ian McKellen (Lord of the Rings, X-Men) plays the role of Two, and Jim Caviezel (The Passion of the Christ, The Thin Red Line) plays the role of Six.
