A mysterious press release came to us today from comic book publishers BOOM! Studios.
The statement simply said “BOOM! Announces….” followed by an image with a figure who is unmistakably actor Samuel L. Jackson.
The image is here at right, so click for the full large view.
There is no information in the press release beyond the image, but the image itself was labeled as “new series teaser.”
Does this mean that Jackson has decided to make his own comic? I’m assuming yes. Or, BOOM! is doing a new series with a character based on the likeness of Jackson.
Of course this isn’t the first time Mr. Jackson’s likeness has been used in a comic book. He was the model artist Bryan Hitch used for the character Nick Fury in his run on The Ultimates. This in turn lead to Jackson’s post-credits cameo as Nick Fury at the end of the first Iron Man movie.
More information on this will be posted as we receive it.
Guys, just check Bleeding Cool… we’ve had it a while…
