Watch Now: Trailer For Alien Invasion Movie ‘Skyline’ Now Online
space
The Movie God   |  @   |

The first teaser trailer for the new alien invasion flick Skyline has been released online by Rogue Pictures. The movie basically took everyone by surprise when a giant banner cloaking a building at Comic-Con had attendees scratching their heads in curiosity and confusion, but after hearing about it at the convention and seeing a little footage, intrigue is on the rise.

Now you all have the opportunity to see your first peek of the movie and decide for yourselves if you’re in or out. It tells the story of an unexpected invasion in which hypnotic blue lights appear in the skies and draw everyone out to see the mysterious spectacle, leaving them all open to alien forces attempting to extract the human population.

Skyline stars Donald Faison (Scrubs), Eric Balfour (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre [2003]), David Zayas (Dexter), Scottie Thompson (Star Trek), and Brittany Daniel (Club Dread).

The movie is directed by Craig Strause and Greg Strause, two newcomers to the director’s chair who previously helmed Alien vs. Predator: Requiem and have an impressive background in special effects. Their company, Hydraulx, has performed effects work on movies like Avatar, Iron Man 2, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and 300. As you’ll see, this movie has an epic summer blockbuster vibe and will clearly be all about the huge special effects, but the catch is that it was made on a minimum budget with a minimum crew. The impressive effects immediately wowed executives and the deal to make it happen was not far behind. This also explains no one’s knowledge of the film’s existence beforehand.

I’m personally not sure how I feel about Skyline just yet, but I can say that the end of the trailer is pretty wild. The potential for a fun new alien invasion movie is definitely growing.

Watch and let us know what you think!

  1. It’s on my birthday. I will take it as a sign and watch it! Does it have Jeff Goldblum in it? I think I saw him being sucked up in the big Machine. GO GOLDBLUM, he rocks w/aliens… Oh, and Wil Smith. He was definately the one on the ground looking up. :)

  2. It looks awesome. Great idea…but the when they cut to the ground and show the people backing up, it looks like a cinema from a Neo Geo game. lol Hope that’s just a rough draft of what the looks of the film will be. :)
