In their week of heavy Batman news, DC Comics announced some news that anyone who was a fan of Greg Rucka’s recent run on Detective Comics has been clamoring to hear. We finally have a time frame for the return of Batwoman.
In November, artist J.H. Williams, III will be taking on writing duties for Batwoman #0, a one-shot story bridging the gap between the last appearance of Kate Kane/Batwoman and the new series starting in 2011. Williams will be pulling double duty on Batwoman as writer/artist, but he will have help in the capable hands of W. Haden Blackman and Amy Reeder taking the positions of co-writer and co-artist, respectfully.
The first two Batwoman arcs in Detective Comics are some of the best comic book stories that I have read in years, and that was not only due to the fantastic writing and art, but also because the character of Kate Kane/Batwoman was one of the most intriguing characters of recent memory, so I am dying to see what Williams and company have up their sleeves for the return of this potentially amazing series.
