The $9 t-shirt deal of the day over at Teefury today is called “Times Are Changing,” by artist JCMaziu.
The sale at Teefury began at midnight EST (Thursday, January 27, 2011) and will continue for 24 hours from then, and once it’s over, it’s gone from the site for good.
The design is inspired by A Trip To The Moon (Le Voyage Dans La Lune), the 1902 silent French film from director Georges Melies, which was the first science fiction story to make it to the screen.
The limited-edition t-shirt is available in Men’s and Women’s sizes in Charcoal.
Here’s what the artist had to say about the design.
Check out the artist’s website to see more of his work.
You’ll probably recognize the Moon image from pop culture parodies by The Mighty Boosh and The Smashing Pumpkin’s “Tonight Tonight” music video. The rocket in the Moon’s “eye” here is replaced with a modern-day space shuttle. (Looks great, though I’m not sure of the timing of this sale, what with tomorrow being the 25th anniversary of the Challenger space shuttle disaster.) The design looks cool though. What do you think of this design?
