At Megacon over the weekend, some pretty big news in the comic book industry was announced, and the biggest story to hit the net was that head of DC Entertainment, and DC Comics superstar writer Geoff Johns would be heading up two new comic book series once Brightest Day wraps up.
Although one is yet to be announced, Johns posted to Twitter that he will be writing a brand new Aquaman series, with Aquaman #1 coming out later this year. You can check out this tweet below.
Now, I don’t know if you guys remember, but at New York Comic-Con last year James Robinson accidentally let it slip that he was going to be working on a Hawkman series. So with this Aquaman news, this is the second character who was a main focus of Brightest Day to have his own series coming out of the maxi series.
Could this be a pattern? Are we going to be seeing new series for Martian Manhunter, Deadman, Firestorm, and the other main characters? Well, I’m certainly not privy to that information, but what do you think? Are you interested in seeing an ongoing series for each of the Brightest Day heroes? Leave your thoughts in the comments section below!
I am so stoked that Aquaman is the 1st star of Brightest Day to have his own series confirmed. He rules. Literally.
