May 25th is Towel Day!
On this great day, be sure to carry a towel around with you today in honor of the late great author Douglas Adams and his awesome book The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.
This international event is now celebrating its 11th anniversary with lots of stuff happening around the globe. Check out towelday.org to find out about Towel Day events. There’s also an event page on Facebook.
If you’re on Twitter, but sure to include the hashtag #towelday when tweeting about how you’re celebrating today — and include some pics too! You can also follow @towelday on Twitter.
I have a silly, pedantic correction: it’s the eleventh annual Towel Day, but it’s the *tenth* anniversary. Anniversaries count the first item in a series as zero not one.
I mention this because we’re marking the significant ten-years-and-two-weeks since Adam’s death, not eleven years.
You may have noticed that we're now AD FREE! Please support Geeks of Doom by using the Amazon Affiliate link above. All of our proceeds from the program go toward maintaining this site.
