The $10 t-shirt deal of the day over at TeeFury today is a Hunger Games-themed shirt called “District – 13 Mockingjays” by artist Tom Ledin.

The sale began at Teefury today, Thursday, August 4, 2011, at midnight EST, and will continue for 24 hours from then, and once it’s over, it will not be sold on the site anymore.

The t-shirt is available in men’s and women’s sizes in silver for $10 each.

Here’s what the artist had to say about the design:

I was super pumped about what a badass the character Katniss is while reading the Hunger Games, and when something pumps me up, I tend to bastardize it with an illustration.

“¨I was about 90% done with the second book when I started designing it, and I had to ask my son (who had already read them all) if the design made any sense. He was like, “Well, there’s no sports teams, and they’re pretty frugal, so I don’t think they’d be wasting resources making t-shirts”¦but yeah, I guess it makes sense.” So, he green-lighted the project”¦thanks buddy!”¨
