That’s right, folks, another Resident Evil movie is on the way!

After 2010’s Resident Evil: Afterlife, that’s probably not exactly the most exciting thing to hear, but nevertheless, the fifth movie in the franchise is on the way, and it will be called Resident Evil: Retribution.

Bloody Disgusting has the scoop on the news, which gets even better for you die hard fans. Not only are they making a fifth movie, but star Milla Jovovich will be returning to the role of Alice for husband/director Paul W.S. Anderson, who is also returning. Jovovich has appeared in all of the films so far, while Anderson has only directed the first and last (Afterlife) installments…though he wrote and produced all of them.

The hopes at the moment are to begin filming in Japan come this October, with a September 2012 release in the sights.
