Coming out of TIFF this year, one film that got a shockingly good amount of buzz was director Roland Emmerich‘s Anonymous. Now, good buzz isn’t something usually said within the same sentence as Emmerich’s name, but it appears as though that may be changing.
Now, according to Deadline, the director has gotten a brand new writer for one of his upcoming projects, with the hopes of continuing this good streak.
Sony has tapped Dante Harper to write the director’s upcoming take on Isaac Asimov’s Foundation. Harper has been behind projects like David Fincher’s long talked about film Black Hole and Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters, so this man is not only proven, but quite a hot commodity in Hollywood.
Personally, while I’m not hugely familiar with the book or the scripts that Harper has penned (Black Hole is a script everyone and their mother has been trying to read), I do think that it’s an intriguing turn for Emmerich. Anonymous appears to be the director’s best yet, so here’s to hoping this sucker can live up to its potential.
