For the longest time, World Wrestling Entertainment has had guest hosts from the likes Hugh Jackman to Pee Wee Herman, but never have there been hosts like this. I could only be talking about one thing… The Muppets.
That’s right, on WWE’s Halloween edition of Monday Night Raw, the fuzzy friends of the geek universe will be hitting the squared circle to take on the likes of CM Punk, John Cena, Alberto Del Rio, and the entire WWE Universe.
I may be exaggerating a little with the assumption that they’ll make it into the ring, but this should prove a good time for those who watch. Everybody loves The Muppets, and how could you not? They’ve been making a huge resurgence over the past few years with their Muppet Studios YouTube videos, and with the new film coming out, this could not have come at a better time.
The WWE’s programming is now considered a PG environment, so it has a lot of reach to children and adults at the same time, which would be a prime market for The Muppets to take advantage of. And there’s so much potential for hilarious material here. For example, Kermit doing a frogsplash, Ms. Piggy hanging out with the WWE Divas (female wrestlers), and even Statler and Waldorf calling a wrestling match! That’s comedy gold! I’m a huge wrestling fan and Muppets fan, so this is almost the best thing that I can think of. It’s Halloween, and this will be a nice way to celebrate it.
The show is going to be a lot of fun, and if you have any doubt, then just check out this video here below that promotes the episode.
The Halloween special of Monday Night Raw airs October 31, 2011 on the USA Network at 9pm EST.
