Having left The Walking Dead, it appears as though Frank Darabont has some free time on his hands.
Deadline is reporting that Darabont has earned a pilot order at TNT for his crime series, L.A. Noir. Not based on the popular video game, the show will be based on the novel of the same name, that follows the story of LA Police Chief William Parker, and his long battle with crime lord and iconic mobster Mickey Cohen. Darabont will helm the pilot and will produce as well.
The genre of crime noir is one that fits perfectly in the guise of weekly television, and with Darabont behind it, this is definitely a show I can’t wait to check out. I’m not a huge fan of TNT and their television output, but then again, they rarely have people with the talent of Darabont behind their shows, so hopefully this sucker can live up to its immense potential. What do you think?
