Last month we wrote about how Star Trek icon Leonard Nimoy would be a guest star on The Big Bang Theory.
Now, Nimoy has tweeted some photos of himself on the set of the CBS sitcom. Check them out here below, along with a promo video for the upcoming episode, which airs this Thursday, March 29 at 8pm ET/PT.
In the episode, titled “The Transporter Malfunction,” Penny (Kaley Cuoco) buys Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Sheldon Star Trek collectibles as a thank-you, and Nimoy voices the Mr. Spock action figure.
The Big Bang Theory has had a long line of geek guests, like other Trek alumni LeVar Burton and George Takai, as well as Battlestar Galactica’s Katee Sackhoff. But fans of the show will know what a big deal it is for the show to snag Nimoy – the actor and his Trek character is a favorite of Sheldon’s (played by Jim Parsons). One of the biggest moments on the show was when Penny gave Sheldon a napkin signed by Nimoy. The subject of Trek and Spock have also come up many times on the series.
