There’s a lot of speculation as to what the plot for Iron Man 3 could be. It is believed that the film could be based on the Extremis storyline, which centers on a technologically based virus that could turn any normal human being into tech-based super soldiers.
No doubt there will be some sort of confirmation when Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige takes the Hall H center stage at the San Diego Comic-Con later this month. But before we hear from Feige or get a confirmation of a synopsis, we have a piece of concept art from the movie that may confirm the Extremis storyline. Check it out below.
So, as you can see, the photo has an artist’s rendering of Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man surrounded by a group of armed men. While Stark isn’t donning the suit, he is pieced together. The lower arm extremity looks as though as if it has organically bonded to its host. With the slight wind trail left by the armor, it looks as though the Extremis storyline will be a part of the Iron Man 3 plot. But that could also be him just moving really fast. I’m also wondering who these men could be and who could they be working for.
Directed and co-written by Shane Black, Iron Man 3 also stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Ben Kingsley, James Badge Dale, and Rebecca Hall. The film opens on May 3, 2012.
