Wes Anderson films are great. They feature an ensemble cast that come together for a wonderful film with indie flair. Now with the continuing success of Moonrise Kingdom, Anderson is ready to direct his following film, which has yet to receive a title.
According to sources, Anderson is looking to cast his favorite actors Bill Murray, Owen Wilson, Willem DaFoe, Jeff Goldblum, Adrian Brody, and Edward Norton. In addition to his favorite actors, he is also looking to cast Johnny Depp, Jude Law, and Angela Lansbury. Quite a collection of names and if everything ends up going according to plan, then this film should be quite the looker.
Though Anderson has announced who he would like to see and has made offers to the respective actors, it’s not known what stage of negotiations the actors are in. Since we’ve seen Murray, Wilson, DaFoe, Goldblum, Brody, and Norton in an Anderson film, it’s safe to say they are at least considering the offer. Depp and Law being in a Wes Anderson film is definitely long-overdue, so if they accept the offers, you can be sure that it will be an interesting film to watch develop as well as watch on screen. Then there’s the Lansbury factor. Though her presence in film now-a-days has been sparse, her casting would be a great addition to a film that we know very little about.
If you haven’t already done so, watch Moonrise Kingdom, it has to be somewhere in my top ten of this year.
