The Tom Tykwer, Andy and Lana Wachowski-directed epic Cloud Atlas will hit the film festival circuit, making its official debut at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). Since we’ve seen so little of this film (outside of the usual leaked photos and end of principal photography photo) we were bound to see some official images from the set.
Check out two new images here below.
Entertainment Weekly has posted the first two images from the movie. In it, we get our first looks at Tom Hanks and Halle Berry, as well as Jim Broadbent and Ben Whishaw.
The ambitious film will feature an ensemble of actors who will play multiple characters in six interwoven storylines that will span six generations. For that reason alone, Cloud Atlas is one of my most anticipated films of 2012. And now that we’ve got our first look at the film, I can’t wait to see what the trailer will offer. But I still have yet to read the book by David Mitchell, but from the look at the photo of Hanks and Berry, I want to know why Berry has all those wires embedded into her head. According to the site, Hanks plays as “a man who meets an emissary from an advanced civilization (Berry).”
Warner Bros. has scheduled Cloud Atlas for an October 26, 2012 release. Are you just as excited as I am?
