When patch 1.0.4 drops for Diablo III, it’s going to be a game changer. With all the class modifications having been announced, it seemed that the fanfare was over and we were just waiting for the patch to drop. This is not the case.
Today Blizzard Entertainment announced a new experience-based leveling system for max level (level 60) Diablo III characters called the Paragon System.
A few key points of the Paragon System:
“¢ After hitting 60, all experience you earn killing monsters will go towards Paragon Levels. There are 100 Paragon levels
“¢ Every Paragon level will reward you with increased core stats (Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, and Vitality)
“¢ Every Paragon level will reward you with 3% Magic find and Gold find
“¢ Every Paragon level will augment your character portrait with an ‘increasingly-impressive’ border that will become more ornate as your Paragon levels increase.
This tactfully addresses gear-swapping for magic find while also fixing the lack of a feeling of progression beyond the level cap of 60. In my opinion, if anything was going to pull players back into a game that became too stagnant too quickly, this could be it. It definitely makes me want to play again.

Nice to see Bliz finally investing in D3. Too little too late perhaps. Most gamers walked away from D3 months ago.
