Justin Lin‘s claim to fame are the latest installments of the Fast and Furious franchise. Not only is Fast and Furious on its way to a sixth film – possibly seventh depending on the success of course – but their success as helped the director come across projects like the David Henry Hwang adaptation Chinglish, and the semi-based on actual events film L.A. Riots. Now the director has inked a new deal which will make him attached to produce a Sci-fi comedy titled Subdivision for Universal.
Lin will produce the pic through his production company Barnstorm Pictures. The film will be housed at Universal, which isn’t surprising since Lin served as director for the last three Fast and Furious films.
Details on Subdivision are scarce as of right now, but to get an idea of what to expect from Subdivision, screenwriter Morgan Jurgenson (Tucker and Dale vs. Evil) and Alex Ankeles (Talladega Nights) penned the script.
With so many projects already under development, it could be a while before we see Subdivision head into production. But if we know Lin, we can expect some pretty exciting sequences that should put audiences on the edge of their seat.
So do you think this is a good fit for Lin?
