A new horror video game from the mind of the great Guillermo del Toro and inspired in some aspects by the works of H.P. Lovecraft is a video game that’s going to excite people. As it turned out, however, THQ was not among those people.
Unlike his massive R-rated H.P. Lovecraft project, At the Mountains of Madness, which still seeks a new home as he finishes work on his upcoming blockbuster, Pacific Rim, it appears that the video game, titled inSane, may already have a new home.
Details on who the new developer might be are still unknown, but it is said that the first place del Toro presented the game snatched it up, unsurprisingly.
When THQ was behind the game, they had Saints Row: The Third developers Volition working on it. Then one day they decided that didn’t like what they were seeing, and canceled the project, leaving del Toro to find someone else to back his work…something that man deals with far more often than someone of his immense passion and creativity ever should.
It will be interesting to see who surfaces as the new company behind inSane, but for now, it’s good to know the game is still alive.
