Chronicle star Dane DeHaan has been chosen to take on the role of Harry Osborn in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, the sequel to Sony and Columbia’s recent reboot of the franchise, The Amazing Spider-Man.

The casting for the role was competitive, as numerous names were reported to be in the running, as we shared with you here and also here.

Director Marc Webb shared the news via the Twitter, saying “Meet Harry Osborn. So excited to have him on board. @danedehaan.”

DeHaan joins returning stars Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, as well as newcomers Jamie Foxx, who’s playing the villain Electro in the sequel, and Shailene Woodley, who will be playing Mary Jane Watson.
