Guillermo del Toro‘s next project, Crimson Peak, may have found its first star.

It’s being reported that Gangster Squad and The Amazing Spider-Man star Emma Stone has entered into early negotiations to star in the movie. No deal is official yet, but sources indicate that the actress is expected to sign on when the details are worked out.

Not much is known about the Legendary Pictures title, only that it’s a haunted house thriller.

Del Toro is currently rewriting the script with Lucinda Coxon, which he originally wrote with Matthew Robbins, with February of 2014 being looked at as the planned start of shooting.
