We’ve been hearing about a planned Highlander reboot from Summit Entertainment for a while now, but nothing has come of it yet.
At one point 28 Days Later director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo was attached to make the movie, and Ryan Reynolds was said to be attached to star (though it was unclear just how attached he was). But now comes word that Reynolds has officially removed himself from any possible involvement in the project. Fresnadillo departed the director’s chair last year.
Now Summit will get to work on finding a new lead star for the movie, and they will continue looking for their director. According to sources, Reynolds decision could help the progress of the reboot because now a new director can be found and they can then cast who they feel is the best fit to play Connor MacLeod, an immortal Scottish warrior who takes on those who remain in a line of immortals who absorb the powers and knowledge of other immortals they kill.
Who would you want to see play Connor in the Highlander reboot? I’ve heard Kevin McKidd’s name mentioned in the past. He gets my vote.

I’m really tired of reboots… come up with something new, stop destroying movies that were already good.
