Recently Geeks of Doom’s own FamousMonster made his case for why a mash-up of Guillermo del Toro‘s Pacific Rim and Gareth Edwards’ upcoming reboot of Godzilla could and should happen. Whether or not that will ever happen (especially considering Pacific Rim only made $37 million of its $190 million or so budget domestically opening weekend, while Grown Ups 2 made $41 million) remains to be seen, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still get a little mixing of the two franchises anyway.

YouTube user honda brigit made a fan trailer for Pacific Rim, but made it over in Japan’s classic Toho Company Godzilla style. The fusion is spectacular, and should be watched immediately if you’re a fan of Pacific Rim, Godzilla, or monster movies in general.
