On Breaking Bad, the White house where Walter White (Bryan Cranston) and his family reside isn’t very decorative. The inside is quite plain, having an almost 1970’s vibe to it with its shag carpet and dark wood paneling, while in contrast Hank (Dean Norris) and Marie (Betsy Brandt) Schrader’s home is brighter and decorated with lots of purple, obviously Marie’s favorite color. Also, while Walt is the scholar among them, having been a chemistry teacher and scientist before becoming a meth-cooking drug lord, his home isn’t filled in books, yet Hank and Marie’s living room has a massive bookcase brimming with various titles. We’ve seen this bookcase over and over again through the five seasons of the AMC series, but in last night’s episode titled “Rabid Dog,” we finally got a good glimpse of the items on the Schrader bookshelves.

One of the items prominently stacked among the many books was the complete series DVD box set for HBO’s Deadwood. Off to the left side were also several Stephen King books, including Four Past Midnight.

Check out a photo here below (minor spoiler) of the bookcase and see if you can figure out what titles are there; you can also watch the “Inside the Episode” video here below, which includes the bookcase scene. Note, both the photo and video contains SPOILERS for the episode if you haven’t seen it.

If you recall, Anna Gunn, who stars as Walt’s wife Skylar (and Marie’s sister) on Breaking Bad, was also on Deadwood in 2006, where she played Martha Bullock, wife of Timothy Olyphant’s Seth Bullock, Sheriff of Deadwood, South Dakota. King’s books are probably on the shelf not only because he’s one of the greatest and most well-known writers of our time, so it’d be logical that the Schraders would have his books, but also likely because last year the master of horror called Breaking Bad one of the year’s best shows. King has also over the years professed his love for the AMC series, which is currently in its fifth and final season.
