Prior to the announcement last month that Sons Of Anarchy star Charlie Hunnam would be the male lead in the big-screen adaptation of Fifty Shades Of Grey, my interest in the best-selling erotica novel by E. L. James was just about nil.
But, since Hunnam (rarr) was cast, I got curious about the story, which is about a 21-year-old naive college student, Ana Steele (to be played by Dakota Johnson), who gets involved in a kinky S&M love affair with a 27-year-old experienced lover, Christian Grey (Hunnam). Apparently, the search for this on-screen couple was exhaustive with lots of rumors swirling before Johnson and Hunnam were picked.
On last weekend’s episode of Saturday Night Live, the show explored what auditions for the movie might have been like with actors like Seth Rogen and Emma Stone; Scarlett Johansson and Christoph Waltz, and more. Check out the video here below from SNL of “50 Shades of Grey Auditions.”
