We’ve been hearing about a new He-Man movie for longer than I care to remember, with seemingly countless names shifting in and out of duty trying to make it happen. Columbia Pictures is still determined to make Masters of the Universe a reality, and so they are now enlisting the help of someone with big time blockbuster and franchise experience on their resume.
It’s being reported that Terry Rossio has been brought in to work on the He-Man script, following the many others who have tried their hand.
Rossio has worked on numerous titles over the years including Little Monsters, Aladdin, Godzilla (yeah, that one), Small Soldiers, The Mask of Zorro, Shrek (which scored him an Oscar nomination), all of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, National Treasure: Book of Secrets, and The Lone Ranger.
No word yet whether Ted Elliot, another writer who has worked with Rossio on many projects, will be helping out here as well.
In addition to Rossio being brought in, it’s also been announced that Jon M. Chu, director of G.I. Joe: Retaliation, is no longer attached to direct Masters of the Universe.
