| Sony Finally Finds Directors For ‘Masters Of The Universe’
Let’s just say Sony hopes this one sticks because we’ve seen so many directors come and go for Masters of the Universe, it almost looked as though the project was never going to see the light of day. Unfortunately, if you are hoping for a big name director to land the part, then you are going to be a bit disappointed. Rest assured, this could work out for the film considering how well indie directors have fared since making the jump from a small budget film to a tentpole blockbuster. New reports say that brothers Aaron Nee and Adam Nee have been tapped to direct Masters of the Universe, a film which would see He-Man protect Castle Grayskull from the likes of Skeletor. Now, another animated series is being turned into a live-action film, although this one is more of a reboot of the original live-action film. Sony has been developing He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, a reboot of Masters of the Universe, the 1987 live-action film, which was based on the popular 1980’s He-Man animated series. After going through a number of writers and directors, the studio has finally settled on a writer. According to a new report, Thor screenwriter Christopher Yost has been tapped to pen the script. But, at the very least, you have to respect a toy line that didn’t come from another medium, took on a life of it’s own, and made literally BILLIONS of dollars for the Mattel toy company and has continued on, in one form or another, to this very day.
