Daniel Douglas is just a regular Joe…well, a regular “Dan” anyway…with a 9 to 5 tech job that he once loved, but now finds endless and unfulfilling. Other than his recent bad dreams (sometimes in HD and sometimes in over-the-air fuzzy reception), and his occasional Friday night cosplay party attendance, Dan lives a normal life. Normal, that is, until he begins developing random superpowers.

Not So Super is awesome! Period. (Or exclamation point if you prefer!) It takes an everyman sort of character, in a boring every day job and then gives him something that he must have dreamed about having (superpowers), but is unable to control or understand.

Jacques Nyemb’s script is unbelievably strong. In this first edition, not much actually happens. In fact, most of the “action” just follows Dan throughout his mundane life. But the character is so well written I was following the story with great anticipation frame after frame.

And speaking of frames, Joe Hunter’s artwork is spot-on perfect for a project like this. He uses clean, simple lines and his faces express emotion quite effectively. His art contributes to the script of the story seamlessly.

My only problem with this comic is its length! It’s too short. I want more. Way more! This is a full-length comic book, but the story moves quick and has left me wanting to read more.

Fans of real-life comics, office drama (like The Office or Dilbert), and superheroes should definitely check this comic out and give it their support.
