The distinctive roar of the original Godzilla, which has been scaring and delighting audiences for 60 years now, was originally created by the film’s composer and is as important to the giant monster’s persona as its huge lumbering body and massive spine spikes. Early images and the poster of the new Godzilla, set to be released this May, appear to capture the physical presence of Godzilla correctly, but what about that roar?
Well, the fine folks behind the new Godzilla film have taken to their official Soundcloud account and released a 20-second audio clip of the official Godzilla roar in an attempt to continue to regain your trust with America being allowed access to the legendary creature. The audio, which you can listen to below, starts off with an amazing high-pitch treble shriek, before changing gears and fading out with a low-bass rumble.
