The distinctive roar of the original Godzilla, which has been scaring and delighting audiences for 60 years now, was originally created by the film’s composer and is as important to the giant monster’s persona as its huge lumbering body and massive spine spikes. Early images and the poster of the new Godzilla, set to be released this May, appear to capture the physical presence of Godzilla correctly, but what about that roar?
Well, the fine folks behind the new Godzilla film have taken to their official Soundcloud account and released a 20-second audio clip of the official Godzilla roar in an attempt to continue to regain your trust with America being allowed access to the legendary creature. The audio, which you can listen to below, starts off with an amazing high-pitch treble shriek, before changing gears and fading out with a low-bass rumble. Turn up your speakers for maximum appreciation!
Most fans, upon first listen, should be completely won over by the direction the creative team has taken with the famous Godzilla roar. Press play, sit back, and let the sound absolutely crush you!
Godzilla is set to destroy San Francisco on May 16, 2014.
