You know those Snickers commercials where celebrities are used in place of ordinary people (there’s one with Betty White, another with Robin Williams) to demonstrate how “you’re not you when you’re hungry”? While I totally do agree with them that you’re not yourself when you’re hungry and I too have been known to satiate that hunger with a candy bar, I can’t help but roll my eyes every time I see one of these ridiculous commercials… until now.
Snickers has just released what is undoubtedly their best ad in this campaign, and it’s one that features none other than the king of the monsters himself, Godzilla. But, this time around, we find out what’s been prompting his rampages and finally see his never-before-seen “satisfied” side.
Check out the Godzilla-starring commercial here below.
Now, at first, I thought this video was a parody, but nope, it’s real, and it’s actually about Godzilla — who stars in the new feature film Godzilla from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures coming to theaters on May 16, 2014. I love how the everyone’s favorite kaiju is depicted having fun in the sun, partying with his bros, playing ping-pong, and more. It turns out, he’s really “cool” – except when he’s hungry and turns into the rampaging monster we’re used to seeing.
I really can’t get enough of this video. Watch and enjoy.
The 30-second ad will debut nationally on Sunday, March 2, 2014, during the television broadcast of the 86th Annual Academy Awards on ABC.
