It’s been assumed for a while now that Naughty Dog’s hit game The Last of Us would eventually get a release on PlayStation 4. It wouldn’t make much sense to release a game that incredible right before people started upgrading from a PS3 to a PS4 and leave it as an exclusive to the older console, even with PlayStation Now on the way.
Today Sony has officially announced The Last of Us Remastered for the PS4, which will run in 1080p and include higher resolution character models, improved shadows and lighting, upgraded textures, and more.
Sony has also announced that bonus content that has been released for the game, including the Left Behind DLC and multiplayer packs, will be included in the remastered release, along with audio commentaries for the cinematic sequences featuring Creative Director and writer Neil Druckmann, voice/performance capture actor Troy Baker (Joel), and BAFTA Award winning voice/performance capture actor Ashley Johnson (Ellie).
Additionally, Druckmann revealed on the Twitter that they’re targeting 60 frames per second for the re-release.
You can pre-order The Last of Us Remastered for PS4 now.
