Even though we’ve already seen two trailers for Avengers: Age Of Ultron, we have yet to see Paul Bettany‘s The Vision in action. We know that the character will be an upgraded version of Tony Stark’s A.I. personal assistant, J.A.R.V.I.S. But as it stands, we really don’t know much of anything else about the character.
While his origins may differ from the comics, we know The Vision will retain most of his powers, like density control, phase shifting, flight, and superhuman strength, at least that’s what the promotional material has been telling us.
Now Bettany has come out to talk about the film and the future of the character. Hit the jump to read what he had to say.
Here’s what Bettany told News Australia in a recent interview,
“That’s the really great thing about the Marvel gig for me,” Bettany said. “I have never known if I have had a job six months out ever in my life. And now I know that they have plans and I can be even more judicious about the stuff that I do outside of that work. I can wait for the right thing and feel really attached to it.”
Bettany seems to be hinting at the fact that The Vision will reemerge in another film, and there are many possibilities, but if we were to take him at his word of “six months,” the best bet is that he has a role in Captain America: Civil War.
Now it isn’t exactly a confirmation, and Bettany could just be pulling “six months” out of thin air, but having The Vision appear in Civil War would seem fitting considering he is Tony Stark’s assistant.
However, it could be that what Bettany is saying is true. Civil War starts shooting from April through August, which would fall in line with the “six months out” he is talking about.
One way we will definitely know if he is in the film or not is seeing the fallout of Avengers: Age Of Ultron, which opens in theaters on May 1, 2015.
