Paramount Pictures is clearly in no rush to get their next installment in the Friday the 13th series into theaters. The movie had already been pushed back eight months from its scheduled March 13, 2015 release to a November 13, 2015 release. Now comes word the studio has bumped it back yet again to a May 13, 2016 release.
Paramount has also decided to push back the release of the next entry in the Paranormal Activity franchise, while scheduling a release date for the third movie in The Ring series.
The next Paranormal movie, currently titled Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension, was also once scheduled for March 13th of this year. Now Paramount is planning to release it on the more fitting October 23rd, where it will face off against Universal Pictures’ live-action adaptation of the ’80s cartoon Jem and the Holograms.
As for The Ring trilogy-maker, currently titled Rings, Paramount has given it Friday the 13th‘s previous November 13th slot, where it will face the Bill Murray flick Rock the Kasbah.
