Marvel Studios has released a new batch of images from the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron. Directed by Joss Whedon, the film, which opens in theaters on May 1, 2015, marks the end of Phase Two for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Avengers sequel, being one of our most anticipated of the year, sees Earth’s Mightiest Heroes going up against their greatest threat, Ultron, an advanced AI that was meant to be a peacekeeping force.
We’ve been combing over the previously released trailers, going over them frame by frame, over-analyzing the images released, and soon enough we will be seeing the film. But we still don’t know the big details that connects the sequel to the events planned for Phase 3.
So while we wait for more details and to have all those questions answered, let’s take a look at the 15 new images that just debuted here after the jump.
Starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Cobie Smulders, Andy Serkis, with James Spader as Ultron and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Avengers: Age of Ultron opens in theaters on May 1, 2015.
Marvel Studios presents “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” the epic follow-up to the biggest Super Hero movie of all time. When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to The Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.
