Episode 17 of The CW’s Supernatural, titled “Inside Man,” aired last night. Here’s my review!
Last week’s episode had a case of the day as Dean (Jensen Ackles) tried to ignore the Mark of Cain, and Sam (Jared Padalecki) pretended to go along. A murderous spirit of a scorned woman was killing (or at least causing it to look like they killed themselves) bad men, or rather, men who were players. Crowley (Mark Sheppard) showed he cared for his mother, Rowena (Ruth Connell) by helping her exact revenge on the leader of her old coven for humiliating her. Dean is getting frightened about what he might turn into. You can see it in his eyes when he’s alone.
Supernatural 10.17 “Inside Man” review: This is no spoiler as it has been all over the trailers and highly anticipated as well. Bobby (Jim Beaver) is back! And how we’ve missed him… almost more than the Winchester boys. Sam is still on a Mark-of-Cain-erasing kick especially when he sees how Dean is suffering. This episode did not have a case of the day, as the last few episodes of a season tend to lean that way. This pushed the “saving Dean” storyline that much further. Metatron (Curtis Armstrong) is the only one who knows how to save Dean. Or is he? There is a hint of another. And since Castiel (Misha Collins) and Sam cannot get into heaven, they have to break him out, hence their “inside man” Bobby. It brought tears to Sam’s eyes and ours. Castiel sees Hannah again, and you can see the affection, although it’s weird because of the new vessel. On a happy note — Dean and Crowley share a beer and an amicable chat. How I’ve missed those! There is new possible info on the Mark which will probably push through the next few episodes. I just hope that this is not the last we’ve seen of Bobby.
Funny part — The Robert Singers. Watch it. You’ll see.
Note to Eric Kripke — Please get John Winchester (the Jeffrey Dean Morgan version) to return the way Bobby did. You can do it. You know you can.
Supernatural airs Wednesday nights at 9pm on The CW.
