Let’s remind ourselves what happened in iZombie last week, before this week’s review. Spoiler alert!

During last week’s iZombie 1.3 “The Exterminator,” Liv (Rose McIver) and Ravi (Rahul Kohli) get the opportunity to test a cure for zombie-ism, when they discover a completely turned trapped zombie. There is a harrowing moment when Ravi falls into the pit with the zombie, and Liv doesn’t act. Her hesitation is not that – the hit man brains she ate, also basically had no feelings. The danger in this zombie world, is that you can catch it from just a scratch. That is how Liv became one. The no feelings thing did help when Liv saw her ex-fiance, Major (Robert Buckley), getting cozy with another girl on social media.

iZombie 1.4 “Liv And Let Clive” review: The scene where Blaine (David Anders) and Jackie get the spa treatment to hide their zombie aspects is sad and riveting. Blaine’s business is very lucrative. His monopoly allows him to charge exorbitant fees to a rich clientele. He has a brain chef and everything. Two of his goons decide to give him a little competition. What do you think happened?

Liv surprises Major one morning with a coffee and apology delivery, but gets surprised herself.

The case of the day, accessed via Liv eating the victim’s brains, is the murder of a fingerless Asian gang member. The bigger problem is that Liv sees Clive in the visions acting like a dirty cop, so she’s reluctant to share her visions. Clive cannot be a bad guy, can he? Liv gains two aspects from this corpse. The first is extreme paranoia. The second… well… I’ll let you watch and find out.

I love, love, love the best friendship of Liv and Ravi. Liv’s little brother is in this episode. He is cute but does not add much yet. Although, I don’t think double jalapeno on pizza is that weird.

Note – Look for the Liv is Buffy moment.

Another home run for what is shaping up to be one of my favorite shows.

  2. It’s really a lighthearted zombie show – an oxymoron I know, but it’s needed and a perfect lineup with The Flash.
