Last season on iZombie, the zombie secret was out… first to Clive (Malcolm Goodwin) and then to the rest of Seattle. Liv (Rose McIver) told Clive to help Major (Robert Buckley), who was in hot water for being the Chaos killer (even though he really didn’t kill anyone). Max Rager had a party that ended in a zombie rampage, complete with massacre, and Rob Thomas (wink wink) of Matchbox 20 bit the dust as well. Liv had to kill Drake to save Clive. Ravi (Rahul Kohli) found out about Blaine and Peyton (David Anders, Aly Michalka). The gang met Vivian Stoll (Andrea Savage), CEO of Fillmore Graves Enterprises, the company that just took over the now defunct Max Rager.

Two weeks ago on iZombie, a magician bit the dust, which turned Liv (Rose McIver) into Ravi’s (Rahul Kohli) favorite persona of all! This also was my favorite episode of the season, because of all the wonderful Blaine (David Anders)! He flirts with Peyton (Aly Michalka), he jokes with Liv, he’s handsome… it was great. Just the 2 lines, ““Did you eat Edgar Allan Poe?†and “Help me Zombie Wan Kenobi. You’re my only hope,” had me dying. In my favorite teamup ever, they try to investigate who is killing zombies (it’s Major, guys!). Major (Robert Buckley) is affected by Liv’s brainy mood swings. Oh, and they solved the case.

Last week’s iZombie brought Major (Robert Buckley) and Liv (Rose McIver) completely back together. They even ran into Clive (Malcolm Goodwin) and the FBI lady on a date. The brains of a gambler make Liv wager on everything, and introduces us to Stacey Boss, who makes most villains look like nuns. His high-pitched laugh and voice freak out Peyton (Aly Michalka), when he comes and threatens her in few words. Blaine’s (David Anders) dad tries to take over his business, plus threaten him with death. Blaine kills his own grandfather (whom he loves) in an effort to thwart him, but his father disappears. Major took him. The big reveal is that Major is not killing zombies, he’s just freezing them.

Last week on iZombie, the brains of the day belonged to a security guard/ basketball coach (for underpriveleged kids), and it was fun to see Liv (Rose McIver) be a tomboy again, especially talking about basketball with Clive (Malcolm Goodwin). She coaches Major back to life, getting him the job helping the kids, getting him off the drugs, and getting back together. Clive and his FBI lady get closer, I believe because of her superior mime skills. Blaine (David Anders) gives Ravi (Rahul Kohli) some tainted Utopium, and they make a startling discovery. Straight up tainted Utopium kills zombies instantly. They have a funny fight set to music which results in Ravi destroying the last batch. Mrs. Suzuki give Clive some brains.

Last week on iZombie, Liv (Rose McIver) ate the brain of a country singer, which gave her the blues, over her relationship with Major (Robert Buckley). But everything made out at the end – literally. Also showing sparks were Blaine and Peyton (David Anders and Aly Michalka), Blaine pretending to be on the side of good by giving up Stacy Boss’s criminal dealings (to take it all for himself). Maybe the love of a good woman will change his spots? It worked for Spike. Clive (Malcolm Goodwin) even got a new love interest in the form of a new FBI agent assigned to a case. Go Clive!

Last week on iZombie, a rich, high society chick bit the dust, so Liv (Rose McIver) got her fashion on. Liv was so lonely (nobody remembered her birthday), she accidentally befriended the stylist murderer. Major is so lonely he sleeps with Gilda (Leann Lapp), Vaughn du Clark’s daughter, both of whom are blackmailing him into murdering innocent zombies. Not good. Peyton (Aly Michalka) returned after fleeing from zombie discovery freakout. She snuck a birthday cake in Liv’s fridge. Very sweet. Vaughn keeps a zombie doctor locked up in the Max Rager basement. Yep.

Last week on iZombie, Liv ate the brains of a party hard frat boy, and boy… did she jump right in! The case had a same name twist. The victim was innocent – murdered because of mistaken identity. And the killer was super remorseful. We know the cases are just the frame for Rose McIver to showcase her versatility. Clive (Malcolm Goodwin) thought she was a crazy person as usual, but didn’t investigate it further than that. Hello? Detective! Ravi and Major (Rahul Kohli, Robert Buckley) go to a club so Ravi can “investigate” the effects of Utopium. Major joins in and passes out, so Liv rescues him. They share a sweet moment, but Major is so messed up, he pushes her away again and takes more drugs alone in his room. He is having a really hard time with the guilt of killing zombies, now that he knows some are good.

iZombie returned last week for its 2nd season, and Liv’s (Rose McIver) life is a mess. Her mom and brother aren’t speaking to her, because she would not donate blood for a transfusion. Her roommate flew the coop after finding out her secret. Major (Robert Buckley) doesn’t want anything to do with her, after she infected him then cured him. Ravi (Rahul Kohli) is trying to recreate the cure. And Clive (Malcolm Goodwin)? She and Clive are good. Bringing down Max Rager and its smarmy CEO (Steven Weber) is still the prevalent overarching theme (along with making a cure). But iZombie is still about a case a week, or rather, eating the case’s brains so Liv can fake visions, while she really takes on memories and the personality of the deceased to solve the crime with Detective Clive. Major is blackmailed into killing a zombie by Max Rager CEO Vaughn Du Clarke (Steven Weber), and goes all Dexter doing it (except with remorse, of course).

iZombie returned for season 2 tonight! Our plucky dead medical examiner, Liv Moore (Rose McIver) got scratched by a zombie (Blaine – David Anders) at a zombie-making boat party (courtesy of Max Rager and Utopia). She had to hide her secret from her family, her ex-fiance, Major (Robert Buckley and oh… zombie-ism is the reason), and the world. All except Ravi (Rahul Kohli), who desperately tries to figure out a cure. Her brain cravings come with a cursed side effect… Liv has visions and takes on the personality of the brains she ate. So far, in season 1, she’s been an artist, a thrill-seeker, a mom, and an alcoholic, to name a few. She uses those visions for good, and hooks up with Detective Clive Babineaux (Malcolm Goodwin), to help him solve cases. Other problems arise like: Blaine running a brain deli, Major driving himself crazy, and Liv losing her roommate.
Spoilers, spoilers, spoilers, spoilers below.
