Director Duncan Jones is deep into the production on 2016’s Warcraft movie. But Jones did take the time to take to Twitter yesterday, and he revealed a unique experience where you can get a sneak peek at the world of Azeroth, where the film based on Blizzard Entertainment’s Warcraft franchise is set in.
Check out the Twitter happiness and the details below.
Then @WarcraftJen tweeted:
So, the idea here is you can go to legendary.com/VR website and find the links to either the Google Play Store or the App Store and download a Legendary Pictures app. Once you download it, you can then load up on a griffon and take a breathtaking flight over Stormwind, mighty stronghold of the Alliance. As you fly, you can look around and get a preview of the world that ILM is creating.
A couple of caveats. The download file for the experience is a pretty hefty download at roughly some 400+ MB’s, and I personally had to download it a couple of times due to errors to get it working on my Android phone. The other issue being that it is fairly short given the legwork involved to get to it. However, I admittedly flew over Stormwind 3 or 4 times to take in all of its majestic glory. While it’s not necessarily a new shiny teaser trailer (hint hint Duncan Jones), it is at least a unique preview of the movie world. Legendary and Warcraft has a pretty good presence at SDCC2015 this year so be sure to check Geeks of Doom for more updates.
Meanwhile, look for Warcraft to make its way into theaters in a little less than a year from now on June 10th, 2016.
