Just when you think you’ve watched all the cool videos possible on YouTube, here comes Real Fake History; short history inspired mockumentaries of fictional events in movies and TV history. As a entertainment geek/history teacher, this is like a wonderful conglomeration of everything I am into! Where else to start but with the series that might have the world’s largest and most vocal fanbase, Star Wars. The first RFH – Return of the Jedi‘s “Battle of Endor.”
You MUST watch the video below. You’re welcome.
Treated like an actual documentary about war, the narrator (Phil Morris) describes Han Solo’s transition from Millennium Falcon pilot/smuggler to devoted ground General of the Resistance. With Solo (Harrison Ford) on the ground, the task of flying the Falcon went to Lando Calrissian (Billy Dee Williams). We then take a break from the popular character to learn more about the little guys who helped destroy the Death Star, and win the final battle against the Galactic Empire. These include Nien Nunb, the Sullustan smuggler who co-piloted the mission and spoke a dialect familiar it seems only to Lando. We learn more from two previously unknown passengers on the Falcon; Bill Bendix and Mark Stargazer.
We cut to interviews with these co-pilots, with Bill discussing the problems communicating with Nien Nunb:
“I don’t speak Sullustan… Sull-UStan… I don’t even know how to pronounce it.”
Mark appears much more disheveled by the experience, and is still a panicked mess.
“Who the hell brings in a co-pilot that doesn’t speak the same language of everyone else? It’s unprofessional!”
Describing Nien, Mark adds, “he smelled like soggy wookie farts.”
The narrator tells what’s next after a possible commercial break… a look into why the Stormtroopers were continually defeated by the Ewoks.
Real Fake History is a new series accessible through YouTube and distributed by Machinima Inc. Machinima’s YouTube channel has over 12-million subscribers and releases new Real Fake Histories every Tuesday.

The Battle of Endor – Real Fake History
While Rebels and Ewoks fought hand-in-paw, the Milennium Falcon’s mission was almost undone by two co-pilots who had no idea what Nien Numb was saying.
