Last week on Dominion, we had an action-packed episode, filled with gore, naked angel ass, and holy fire. Claire (Roxanne McKee), to David’s (Anthony Head) fury, dropped a bomb on Gabriel’s (Carl Beukes) aerie, tearing many of his minions to pieces, but failing to disintigrate the main target. It did allow Alex (Christopher Egan) and Noma (Kim Engelbrecht) to escape. And somehow, Alex’s tattoos cured an 8-Ball, and now they have a human tagalong. Michael (Tom Wisdom) happened upon a town, protected by a fire in the center, that keeps 8-balls away. They believe they speak to God. Michael is skeptical, however, fights alongside them when the fire goes out during a storm.
Dominion 2.2 “Mouth of the Damned” review: Good episode! Gabriel is nomadic, but frothing at the mouth to get Alex back (well, his skin at least). Alex, Noma, and the human get caught by Julian (Simon Merrells), the leader of New Delphi, who has somehow managed to tame 8-Balls, and now has a community of humans and 8-Balls living together. This new development, can turn the show from an “us against them,” to a place where even the most evil of characters have a chance at redemption. Alex definitely wants in, but Julian will have none of it… until Gabriel shows up and he doesn’t allow Alex to be taken. Everything has a price though. Julian wants Alex to fetch something for him inside a room that sounds like Mordor filled with thousands of Orcs. Good luck Alex.
The girl that saw Michael’s wings (and ass) was actually a resident of Mallory, Alabama. She got brought in hurt from an 8-Ball fight, and stares at Michael like she knows him. When alone, he appears to her, wings out, and tells her their secret is a test from God. Michael gets a good look at the darkness underneath the town, as confessions are held while a person puts his/her hand in a candle flame. Telling the truth and giving a full confession equals no pain. If you hold anything back – pain. Unfortunately, she held back, so one of the townsfolk shoots her. WTF! And how is Michael going to live with that?
Back in Vega, someone tries to kill Claire (Zoe to be specific). Convinced it was David, Arika (Shivani Ghai), trains an 8-Ball to seduce David on camera. The 8-Ball, Rose, does seem to be better with makeup and the promise of posessions. The plan succeeds and David is dragged away. Akira shoots Rose instead of handing her a photograph she desires. That was super cruel, more cruel than David. David talking to his dead son’s ghost creeps me out.
I gotta say I was riveted again. I review some core necessary geek shows like Arrow and The Flash, but I like to try out one or two new shows seeking out hidden treasures. Dominion, so far, seems to be one of them.
Dominion airs Thursday nights at 10pm ET on Syfy.
