Rick and Morty

If you’re not already watching the hilarious animated series Rick and Morty, now is as good a time as any time to get in on the fun. You’ll regret it if you don’t. The second season just got started a few weeks back, but it’s already being reported that Adult Swim has given the greenlight to a season three.

The show is a brilliant mix of science fiction and raunchy humor, following a crude, drunken genius named Rick, his innocent grandson Morty, and the many crazy adventures they get into involving everything from time travel and parallel universes and inception(ing?) to alien babies, simulation obsessed alien scam artists, and theme parks inside the human body, just to name a few.

Rick and Morty is created by Justin Roiland (The Sarah Silverman Program, Adventure Time), who also voices both Rick and Morty, and Community creator Dan Harmon. The rest of the primary cast is Sarah Chalke (Scrubs, Roseanne) as Morty’s mother and Rick’s daughter Beth, Chris Parnell (Archer, Saturday Night Live) as Morty’s father Jerry, and Spencer Grammer (Greek, As the World Turns) as Morty’s sister Summer.

It also features a long list of guest stars ranging from well-known actors and comedians to names best known for their voice work including Tom Kenny, Christina Hendricks, Patton Oswalt, Alfred Molina, John Oliver, Dana Carvey, David Cross, Keegan-Michael Key, Jordan Peele, Jemaine Clement, Paul F. Tompkins, Maurice LaMarche, Tress MacNeille, Nolan North, John Kassir, Gary Anthony Williams, Rich Fulcher, Claudia Black, Virginia Hey, Dawnn Lewis, Rob Paulsen, Jess Harnell, Phil Hendrie, Aislinn Paul, and Cassie Steele.

The show actually first premiered back in December of 2013 and season two kicked off on July 26th of this year. Hopefully fans won’t have to wait that long to get season three. But that’s a worry for another day.

For now, you can catch Rick and Morty on Adult Swim on Sunday nights at 11:30 EST.
